The safest place to keep your belongings is at home. You don't have to go through paperwork or sign up online and get insurance for your belongings. You don't have to exhaust yourself for packing and wrapping everything. Think of all the money you can save from buying all those boxes and tapes.

Multi-purpose furniture is excellent mini storage units. Look for furniture that can serve different purposes. It's impossible not to have tables that come with drawers or enclosed cabinets. Some coffee tables and chests have drawers that you can use to store small items. Side tables can be used as a display case for photographs or collectibles.

Recycle

Save containers that can be used. These are disposable butter, margarine, plastic milk and tall potato chip containers. Others are plastic baby wipes, laundry detergent and rectangular tissue boxes. Look for used cans, empty jars for baby food, ribbon reels, and shoe bags that you can hang with transparent pockets.

Recycle and clean these items. They can be used to store things such as small project items, small toy accessories and puzzles, paintbrushes, and plastic bags. You can pretty much store anything that fits. Cleaning out your closet

Closets can also be space savers as long they are organized. You can maximize their storage capacity by adding double hanging rods, hooks, shoe organizers, drawers made of plastic or cardboard. Organize your clothes and hang them by style or color. This will give you a much more clear view of clothes that you haven't used for awhile.

In the bedroom

Use boxes that can be stored under the bed. Some of them are equipped with wheels and can fit in narrow spaces. Install a row of wooden pegs so that kids can use them to hang their toys. Use canvass or wooden hampers for storing toys. Buy bed platforms that have built in drawers.

Remember those fancy wall hangings with pockets? You can use them to store your kids coloring books, crayons, and other items that can fit. This way they can be easily seen and reached by your kids. You can also use your empty luggage as storage.

These are just some of the many ways in which you can store your items. Getting your house organized will not just keep things where they should be but also provide a clutter free environment.
